1/6/2024 0 Comments Atre power managerThere was no hickup or hesitation at any throttle setting at any rpm. The dyno tune and reflash of the ECU made this machine a joy to ride. The 98 TL stuttered between 3-4k and had a throttle hickup sometimes in that range. Stock tuning is just plain lean on all of these. So what does all this add up to considering the engine is basically the same? The DL was purchased with 2bros exhaust and stock fuel mapping and came with a PCV with a 0 map. Then there was the 2003 TL which had complete dyno reflash and a TRE. The first TL - a 98 did not have any TRE or tuning. My Strom is my personal and only transportation now (gave my car to the kid), so the vast majority of my riding is in town in 1-4th gears so the GIpro is a big help here.Ĭlick to expand.I have had 2 TL1000R's and now my new DL1000. Was it worth the cost, with the gear indicator, yes it is to me. So did the ATRE make a huge change, no but it is acceptable and pleasant. Biggest difference that I feel is taking turns in 2nd gear, very smooth transitions now where I was always jerky before. Switched to map 5th gear and found much smoother throttle response in the lower gears. I initially set the ATRE to read 4th gear (manual recommended) but on a brief test run did not feel that much of a difference. ![]() It shows the gear changes instantly and I love this feature especially when slowing to take a turn I had forgotten what gear I was in while cruising. On first test it did not read 3rd gear so I put it into Learn mode and clicked through the gears. I placed the gear indicator on the Tach dial and plugged the hot wired to a switched 3-way fuse box from Eastern Beaver. Installation was fairly straight forward but getting the Gear Indicator coupler undone was a bear (I did not lift the tank). OK, so I took the plunge and purchased the GIpro.
